Society tells us we have to look a certain way, act a certain way, talk a certain way, and be a certain side of ourselves that is so limited and small.
And our bodies are conditioned the same way. To be limited & small.
If we take up too much space, physically, mentally, emotionally, or otherwise, we are asked to limit our impact on the environment and others around us.
But how does this affect us personally?
People of all ages, races, and backgrounds experience this internal discrimination & judgment, some more than others.
We only need to hear these shaming comments once or twice, before they can stick for a lifetime in our internal dialogue towards ourselves.
In just one day’s time we can go from highs to lows on the emotional rollercoaster all simply due to our feelings around the simple act of navigating food choices on a daily basis.
But food addiction isn’t something we can decide to go sober from. We must eat to live.
So how do we learn to eat to live instead of living to eat?
How do we continue to enjoy the pleasures of food for its comfort, nostalgia, and social value, without giving it so much power it begins to overtake our desire to take care of our bodies well?
First, we must learn to deprogram diet culture.
This is a multi step process that begins with learning about the harmful effects that diet culture has had on our sense of self, our sense of worth, our intuitive connection with our bodies, and our body's interconnectedness with all of nature, including food from nature.
Unnatural foods are made with addictive chemicals that... guess what?
Get us addicted to these fake foods.
When we are constantly modifying our mood with food, we begin to lose touch with the truth of our human experience.
When we lose touch with our natural spark for life, we experience daily life as dull, boring, monotonous, and even purposeless.
So what do we do?
We go back to these fake chemically made foods to attempt to bring that spark of joy back into our day.
But this is an endless addictive cycle.
The second that sugar, alcohol, wheat, or caffiene burns through our system, now we crash. And we're right back where we started...
Feeling low, and trying to get back up.
So, now that you know how diet culture traps us in an endless cycle of shame & addiction...
Now that you see that most foods that are accessible, available, and convenient are these fake modified food products...
Now that you understand that it's not your fault that you got caught in the socialization of diet culture...
Are you ready for a way out?
I've designed a clear road map for this path of reclaiming your body so that you feel in control of your cravings & can conquer your addictions to food.
