how to prepare for kambo

How we prepare for medicine work is a major contributing factor to the benefits we will receive. Please read this page in its entirety, complete the necessary steps, and discuss any potential health or drug contraindications with your practitioner.

preparation recommendations

3 days - 3 weeks prior:​

  • Eat whole foods (fruits, veggies, broths, proteins, ancient grains)

  • No inflammatories (alcohol, drugs, smoking, fried, processed foods, sugars)


1 day prior:​​

  • Do not eat (greasy, fried, spicy, fermented, dairy, processed)

  • Plan for a full nights rest + time in the morning for meditation + movement before

  • Do not consume any solid food 6-12 hours prior

  • Drink only (water, coconut water, plain herbal tea)

 


Kambo day:

  • Do not consume (medicines, medications, supplements, caffeine)

  • Do not consume any solid food 6-12 hours prior (smoothies or juices 4 hours prior)

  • Drink only (water, coconut water, plain herbal tea)
     

  • Bring your water bottle + 1 gallon of spring water

  • Bring your yoga mat, pillows, and a blanket to set up your sitting space

  • Bring comfortable clothes that layer for temperature changes, include a light scarf + hat
     

  • Plan 2 hours for private, 3 hours for couples, or 4 hours for groups

  • Plan for a restful day of recovery, unplugged, in nature if possible

  • Do not eat (greasy, fried, spicy, fermented, dairy, processed)

1 day after:​

  • Eat whole foods (fruits, veggies, broths, proteins, ancient grains)

  • No inflammatories (alcohol, drugs, smoking, fried, processed foods, sugars)

  • Hydrate & Remineralize (purium, coconut water, electrolytes, trace minerals, raw honey, broths)


3 days - 3 weeks after:​

  • Eat whole foods (fruits, veggies, broths, proteins, ancient grains)

  • No inflammatories (alcohol, drugs, smoking, fried, processed foods, sugars)
